IS EVERYONE GOING TO DIE?

Then the people began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them. The sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.

‭‭(Genesis‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Prior to Genesis chapter 6, we can observe that man lived for well over 120 years. However as seen in our theme scripture, because of sin, the Lord had then reduced man’s lifespan to 120 years.

However, the scriptures show us that the Lord Jesus has now dealt with the issue of sin (the death factor), “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” ‭‭(John‬ ‭1‬:‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). Jesus removed sin from man and we’re now free of sin and its effects therefore; which, being death!

Not only has the Lord Jesus removed sin, He’s also given us His righteousness, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). When you became the righteousness of God - having His life and nature in you - through salvation, death lost its power over you!

Yes, when you receive salvation, eternal life (The Life of God) is imparted to your Spirit. That’s what Jesus came to do, to give us life and abolish, destroy death completely (2 Timothy 1:10). Thus, as a Christian, you can boldly declare, “I’m full of life, and I shall live and not die!” And when you study 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, it gives you a better understanding why you can boldly do so. In particular verse seventeen which reads, “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air… .”

There’s a class of Christians who’ll never taste death, for the scriptures need to be fulfilled, which is the rapture of the Church. Thank God we are that special, chosen generation that the scriptures refer to, who are to be raptured from the earth and meet the Lord in the air. And for that to happen, we’re to live and not die, “But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed”(1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭51‬ ‭NLT‬‬). Hallelujah!

Confession:

I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! And in Him, I live the sin-free life, where death has been completely defeated and destroyed! Death is no longer a factor in my life, for I have the all-conquering life of God in me.
