You Are Better Than A Handkerchief
Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:11-12 NKJV). It is remarkable to read from our opening scripture that the sick recovered from all diseases and demons were cast out, all as a result of a touch from handkerchiefs and aprons from the body of Paul the Apostle. The miracles, signs and wonders that took place by reason of the touch of the handkerchiefs from the Apostle Paul were great, however, when we come to the complete and precise knowledge and understanding of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, we discover that there is an even more glorious reality. The power at work in the handkerchiefs was the power of the Holy Spirit. Note: The Holy Spirit is a person so He didn't live in them. Instead, it was the influence of His power transferred onto them for Paul had the person of the Holy Spirit inside of Him. When you became born again, you became a new creation and a new species all together (2 Corinthians 5:17). This new man is characterized as someone who is the home of the Holy Spirit as we read in 1 Corinthians 6:19 (TLB); "Haven't you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you." This is exactly what separates you from the world and makes you a superman — the Indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. This is the same Holy Spirit that was working in the Apostle Peter when the afflicted recovered by the passing of his shadow on them (Acts 5:15). The Holy Spirit that was working in the Apostles is the same Holy Spirit that is resident in you today. That power that was working in the Apostles is the same power the Holy Ghost has given you today. Glory to God! When the Holy Spirit comes to live in you, He comes with the full package, this is, the glory of God, all of His power and all of His anointing. You have the fullness of God (everything that makes God who He is) in you by His Spirit (Colossians 2:10). 1 John 2:27 reads; "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you." There is absolutely no need to pray and ask God for more anointing, because you have the fullness of the anointing NOW through the Holy Spirit. Understand this, the dead bones of Elisha that raised a corpse to life, the handkerchiefs of the Apostle Paul that healed the sick, do not have what you the new creation have — the fullness of the Spirit of God. How much more with you when it comes to performing signs, miracles and wonders? With the consciousness of this truth and reality, you ought to be enjoying a life of an endless stream of the miraculous and supernatural! Therefore, we need to learn from our master Jesus. In Luke 4:18, He said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor...." Not only did the Lord Jesus believe the scriptures, He also spoke accordingly. Likewise, declare that you have the fullness of God in you. Declare that all of His power and Anointing are in you by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is the source of the anointing, glory and power of God. Make a conscious decision today, to make the Holy Spirit your best friend, thus, spending more time with Him in Fellowship (praying in the Spirit, speaking in tongues) than you do with men. When you abide by such a lifestyle, the working of signs and wonders shall be an everyday experience. Confession: I have the fullness of God in me. I have the Holy Spirit without measure therefore, all the glory, power and anointing of God are in me. I'm anointed to work miracles for my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name. Amen.
