The Perfect Man 3

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he... . - Proverbs 23:7

The scripture above talks of a very important principle that's very important in the life of a Christian. It tells us that whatsoever a man thinks about, that which dominates the thoughts of his mind; his life becomes a reflection of it. Interestingly, you even find people of the world who are not born again telling you about the power of the mind, giving quotes such as "You become what you think about." If they can believe this principle and say it's true, how much more you, a Christian, a child of God who has the holy scriptures which tells you of this truth?

If the word of God, which is the truth, says as a man thinks in his heart so is he, the only kind of thoughts you'd want to have or accommodate would be good and perfect thoughts. This therefore means that for a man to be perfect, he needs to have perfect thoughts only, thus bringing us to the conclusion that the perfect man is the man who has perfect thoughts.

The question now is, how then do I practice or train myself to always have thoughts that are perfect? It's simple. The book of Psalm 19:7 reads, "The law of the Lord is perfect... ." It says the word of God is perfect, so when you attend church services regularly you get to be taught the perfect word of God, when you listen, read, study and meditate on the word of God, you're driving it into your spirit, and it now becomes the dominant factor in you, causing you to think of it (the Pefect Word) at all times, resulting in your life becoming a reflection of the perfect thoughts you have.

When we look at the book of John 1:13 it says, "...Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." We see from here that the Christian is one who is born of God. And when you read Matthew 5:48 it clearly states that God is perfect. Now if God, who is perfect, can give birth, if he can reproduce, it can only be after His own kind. This means that God can only give birth to a perfect creature, which is you. Glory to God!

The bible also teaches us about looking into the Word of God. It says in 2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." The word of God here is described as a mirror. The main purpose of a mirror is for a person to be able to see themselves since it provides a perfect and accurate reflection of how they look. The scripture also tells us that the more you look into the word of God you are changed and your life becomes the image of God's Word.

Therefore, since the word of God is perfect (Psalm 19:7), when you look into it, when you study or read the word, you see yourself (perfection), and when you read and study the word of God, you become perfect.

Be diligent therefore, in your study and meditation of God's Word for that's the only way to be perfect and to maintain your perfection.

Confession:

I'm a perfect man because I think perfect thoughts only. I refuse to allow imperfect thoughts into my heart. I'm perfect and complete in Christ because I'm born of a perfect God. My focus is set on God's Word, for by it, my perfection is maintained and I stay aglow always. Hallelujah!
