The Perfect Man 1

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. - Matthew 5:48 KJV

As stated in the opening scripture above, God is perfect and so is His Word. The book of Psalm 19:7 reads: "The law of the Lord is perfect..." This is the word of God, The Holy Scriptures - it is perfect. There are no flaws or errors in the word; it is perfect and complete.

As a new creature according 2 Corinthians 5:17, when you study or read the scriptures, you will discover that God gave birth to you.

1 John 4:4 reads: "Ye are of God, little Children, and have overcome them..." Saying 'Ye are of God' actually means that you come from God, you proceed from Him and we all know that only good and PERFECT gifts comes from God. The New Creature has an origin, a source of life from which he proceeds and that is God. What a remarkable truth.

More profoundly, we discover from the word, that not only did God give birth to us, but He did so through His Word; which is perfect! We see this in James 1:18 which in the NIV reads: "He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created." Having read previously from Psalm 19:7 that His word is perfect, we now learn that it is through this perfect Word that we (The New Creation) were brought forth, given birth to. This means that you, a new creature, are a perfect being. You are a perfect man.

There is something interesting to observe from the first part of the opening scripture when the Lord Jesus says, "Be ye therefore perfect..." When speaking here, the Lord Jesus was not talking to people who were born again because this was before His resurrection. These people were not yet new creatures because at that time, it was not possible for a man to receive the life and nature of God into his spirit. Yet, the Lord expected and demanded of them perfection (see also Genesis 17:1). How much more with you, a new creature?

If people who were not born again were expected to be perfect then there is no excuse for you. God demands and expects perfection from you. When we talk about perfection, it has nothing to do with what you can or cannot do.

You come from perfection (God), therefore you are perfect!

Furthermore, when we read in James 3:2, we see and get to understand how God describes the perfect man. It reads: "... Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect... " God describes a perfect man as a person who does not stumble in words - a man who has put a premium on his words. From this scripture, it is therefore safe to conclude that the life of perfection begins with the tongue.

When your tongue is perfected, everything about your life, your health, finances, family, business and marriage is perfected. When you speak perfect words only, it is only a matter of time before everything that concerns you and your life goes in the right direction. Therefore speak perfect words only. Refuse to speak imperfections. Do not observe lying vanities or things that may happen in your life that are not consistent with the word and conform to voicing them out loud. Stand firm and grounded on the word of God in faith, and confess only the word!

Confession:

I am perfect and excellent. I am complete and I lack nothing. There are no imperfections in me. My mind, thoughts, words, actions and attitude are perfect. I live in perfect health and prosperity. Glory to God!
