Paying Attention To The Tenses In The Epistles

God has given us his Spirit. This is how we know we are one with him, just as he is one with us (1 John 4:13 CEV).

The precise knowledge and understanding of the word of God is the difference between a child of God who walks in the light of the word and one who doesn't; for one who doesn't know or understand the Word walks in darkness and lives as a victim in life (Psalm 82:5).

The epistles convey a beautiful description of who the Christian is (who we are, what we have and what we can do in Christ); these wonderful realities have been written in the past tense, thus indicating to us that they are already a reality in our lives.

One of these amazing realities is revealed to us in our theme verse: "God HAS GIVEN us his Spirit..." (1 John 4:13 CEV). Did you see that? We have the Holy Spirit living in us already. This is not a promise nor a prophecy. The same Holy Spirit who beautified heaven, lives in us today, in His totality, Glory to God.

Another wonderful reality is unveiled in Ephesians 2:22 (NIV) and it reads: "And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling IN WHICH GOD LIVES BY HIS SPIRIT." You see, God lives in us today by His Spirit (the Holy Ghost). We don't need to pray for more of Him, for He has made us His living sanctuary, His place of dwelling, Hallelujah!

Moreover, there's absolutely no need for us to pray and ask God to deliver us from darkness, for it is written in Colossians 1:13, "He HAS DELIVERED us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love..." This has happened already! As children of the Most High, we are in Christ and in His marvellous light, therefore, there's no darkness in us; it cannot have dominion over us! Oh Blessed be God!

This is the kind of life that God has called us into; yet in order for all of His children to walk in the light of these remarkable realities, spiritual growth is a sure requirement.

When you come to know that every blessing you require for life has been granted you already (Ephesians 1:3) you begin to walk in life as the victor, success and king God has made you, conscious of the infinite blessings of the Lord working in your life.

2 Peter 1:3 says, "as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue...." It is when you come to the knowledge of the word that you get to understand that you possess everything you would ever require in life. It's been granted you already. You have no lack. All things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21).

Don't waste precious times of Fellowship in prayer with the Lord asking Him for what He's given you already. Take full advantage of time spent in fellowship with Him, praying in accordance with His will, fully conscious of these realities and walk in them as you fulfil God's perfect will for your life. Prayer: Blessed Father, thank you for blessing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. I have all that I need and require for a life of total success, progress and prosperity. I live and function in the kingdom of Heaven, in absolute dominion, in Jesus's name. Amen.
