Increase Your Word Intake

Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts (Colossians 3:16 AMPC).

As children of God, we learn and understand from the scriptures that we are born of and were brought forth by the Word of God (James 1:18). This means that every born again believer has the nature of the Word in their spirit.

With this understanding, you ought to have the Word of God dwell richly in your heart. This Word of God should have its home up in your heart. Remember that God's Word is your source, thus, you need to stay connected to your source.

The Lord also encourages us to, "... give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh" (Proverbs 4:20‭-‬22 NKJV). God wants His children to go for His Word voraciously, He wants you to increase your Word intake.

Why is it important to the Father that you increase your Word Intake?

John 17:17 (NKJV) reads, "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." When you have God's Word in you, you have and possess the truth and reality of who you are; the truth regarding your health, finances and success. Your life is now no longer defined by the circumstances you face, but by the Word of God; and it's a definition of success and prosperity only. His Word has the final authority over your life.

God's Word causes you to walk in perfection and lead a life without errors. Jesus said, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God" (Matthew 22:29 NIV). A life of endless mistakes and errors is a result of the lack of God's Word in an individual's life. When you live life without the Word of God, you'll continue to function as one of this world, when you are in fact a Heavenly being (Psalm 82:5-7).

With the Word of God in your heart, you cease to walk about in darkness. Rather, you walk in the path of God's shining light; His perfect plan and purpose for you. His Word leads and guides you always and in all things. Psalm 119:105 (NIV) gives a perfect description of the word and it reads, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." The word is light. Hallelujah.

God's Word makes it possible for us to live pure, blameless and holy lives (John 15:13). The Word of God also teaches us that a man's life takes the direction of his thoughts (Proverbs 23:7). Thank God His Word is able to renew our minds to always be filled with thoughts of excellence, perfection and righteousness; thus, our lives will being a reflection of these.

No wonder the Lord wants us to incline our ears to His Word always. This brings about perfection and excellence in every area of our lives. And when you're a Christian, you need to be courageous, bold and built up strong to stand up to everything and anything coming your way. This is the reason Paul commends us to the Word (Acts 20:32).

With God's Word, there's no barrenness in your life, you're forever fruitful and productive in all things. Everything you do and touch becomes a success and yields the desired results (Psalm 1:1-3). What is more amazing is that God's Word causes us to walk in His infinite wisdom as His children. The wisdom of God is working and functioning in you by reason of His Word in you (Psalm 119:98).

With God's Word at your disposal, your possibilities are endless. However, you need to desire the Word of God so that you may grow in the knowledge and understanding of God and all that He's made you to be.

People of the world, and sadly, sometimes even Christians, would say, "Life doesn't have a manual, we just live and discover about it along the way." Absolutely not. God's Word is our manual for life. With the Word, we're set on God's perfect and righteous course for our lives. Therefore increase your Word intake; follow a bible reading plan, study the bible, meditate on the scriptures daily; and you'll walk in these beautiful realities of God's Word.

Confession:

I'm full of God's Word. It's working in my Spirit, soul and body. With God's word in my heart, I walk in God's perfect will for my life and fulfil my calling in Christ without reproach. Hallelujah.
